Florence Mills, born Florence Winfrey (1896 – 1927), American cabaret star, singer, dancer and comedienne. Pictured centre stage with Miss Tillie Meadows and Miss Lucia Moses during the number “Jazz Time came from the South” in the Charles Cochran revue Black Birds, which was performed at the London Pavilion in 1926 with an all-star black cast.
